Our Companion Program aims to offer all children a fun, positive and safe camp experience. We believe that every child is entitled to proper support and understanding, and we strive to successfully include campers with different needs and diverse abilities. We do so by using our inclusive approach when handling unexpected behaviour at camp, as well as by providing companions to children who may need additional support to fully participate in camp life.
Our camp environment provides children with different needs a stimulating and inclusive camp experience, filled with opportunities to create meaningful connections with other. This same environment also provides an opportunity for all to learn how to accept and embrace everyone’s differences, strengths, and individuality.
Registration
Thank you for choosing our YMCA day camp Companion program services. We are getting ready for the summer 2025 camp season. If you have general questions about the program or about companions for the Holiday or Spring Break day camps, please do not hesitate to write to us at contact@ymcaquebec.org
Step 1: Complete the Request for Participation Package
- A parent/guardian and a professional must both complete the Request for Participation Package, which will be made available in mid-February.
Step 2: Submit Your Completed Request for Participation Package via a Secure Link
- Once the Request for Participation Form is completed, email contact@ymcaquebec.org to simply let us know you are ready to submit your request.
- Our team will then send you a secure link for submitting your completed Request for Participation Package.
- Click the link, attach your completed documents, and hit “send.”
Step 3: Assessment of Your Request
- Once all required documents have been completed and submitted, your request will be under review by our team.*
Step 4: Confirmation of Support and Registration
- Once we have confirmed that your camper has been assigned support from the Companion Program, a confirmation email will be sent to you with the steps to register with one of our agents.
- We will begin confirming acceptance into the Companion Program by mid-March.
We ask for your patience as we process camper companion requests. Due to the high number of requests received, it is possible that we may be unable to provide a companion for your camper, even if your documentation was submitted prior to mid-March.
*Incomplete documents will result in delays and will be put on hold until the Request for Participation Package is fully completed.
