Planning for Prison Release: To Ensure Housing Stability and Promote Reintegration

The Planning for Prison Release program supports and helps people incarcerated at the Montréal or Rivières-des-Prairies detention centres who, once released, might not have a place to live to prepare for their release from prison. Work with program participants starts at the detention centre and continues once they are out in the community. The goal is to break the cycles of homelessness, ensure housing stability, and promote their social and community reintegration.

Our team collaborates with all the YMCAs of Québec’s programs that support people with criminal records or facing social or economic barriers, specifically La Boussole, Espadrille, and Dialogue programs, as well as several community and institutional partners. Our holistic approach is focused on the specific needs of each person.
