Established in 1977, the Saint-Laurent YMCA is a community centre that serves one of Montréal’s most multi-ethnic and socio-economically diverse neighbourhoods. To strengthen and bring the community together, it provides a host of much-needed multigenerational programs.
Among other things, the Saint-Laurent YMCA offers a subsidized daycare and family resource centre, featuring a toy library and variety of development activities for toddlers. It also offers several youth programs such as a TeenZone, the C-Vert and Alternative Suspensions programs, and sewing lessons.
The centre also organizes outings for local families and collaborates on various projects for the community.
