The YMCA d’Haïti tackles long-standing challenges most Haitians face, particularly youth. These include poverty, lack of access to education, and marginalization. The programs at the YMCA d’Haïti directly contribute to building a civil society and strengthening community participation by providing youth with a safe place to meet and volunteer.

A school support program that provides homework help and tutoring for school children and financial assistance to youth who want to return to school.
A library that helps children and youth learn and develop their reading skills.
Educational programs that help people develop social skills and prevent sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV/AIDS.
A youth camp that offers drama, art, English lessons, sports, and music.
Youth Leaders in Action, which is a structured leadership program for 18-to-25-year-old Haitians from low-income or marginalized communities. This program encourages youth to become active, involved citizens as well as positive role models, leaders, and educators to other young people in their communities.
The YMCA d’Haïti has been our overseas partner for 25 years.
In 1999–2000, the YMCAs of Québec led YMCA community support for the re-opening of the YMCA d’Haïti.
After the 2010 earthquake, we actively supported the YMCA d’Haïti in managing relief efforts from the World YMCA movement with the goal of ensuring the YMCA d’Haïti’s future.
In 2013, when CIDA funding ended, we chose the YMCA d’Haïti as our only overseas YMCA partner.
We are one of the most stable members in the YMCA Haiti coalition, which is led by the YMCA of the USA and includes 8 other member associations in the United States.
