YMCA Canada: A Nationwide Impact

The Canadian YMCA Federation is made up of 37 member associations. Each member association is a registered charity and is driven by its own mission so it can address the unique needs of its community. For YMCA Canada, which supports all these associations, this ensures all associations work together toward a common goal: to help every Canadian shine on.

YMCA Canada leads several national initiatives, ensuring coherence between member associations’ social change initiatives by:

  • igniting the potential in people from all backgrounds and at all stages of their lives
  • promoting healthy lifestyle habits
  • fostering social responsibility

World YMCA

YMCA Canada is a part of an even larger network. World YMCA is a federation of local associations across the globe, offering programs and services to 58 million people and relying on the contribution of over 1.5 million volunteers in 119 countries.

Many Canadian YMCAs have established partnerships with international YMCAs to strengthen their ability to offer sustainable programs and services that address the most pressing social needs. This is particularly true of the YMCAs of Québec, which has a long-standing relationship with YMCA d'Haïti.
