Over 15 years old and want to be a counsellor?

DAFA is THE certification that will equip you with exactly the tools you need to ensure the safety and quality for group animation for youths between the ages of 5 and 17.

This training is recognized by the Association des camps du Québec (ACQ) , which will help you find a job in day camps across the province. But not only that: other youth group animation programs throughout the year are looking for qualified individuals with this type of training under their belts! Develop your skills to be the best possible hire for youth sports clubs, after-school programs, Scout groups, and more!

Hybrid program - French Hybrid program - English

*Please note: Practical trainings are not included. However, the trainers will help you to find your internship in the organization of your choice.

Following this training, you will be equipped to:

  • Effectively manage groups of up to 20 youth
  • Encourage participation from everyone
  • Speak confidently with parents
  • Create an inclusive environment for your organization’s programs
  • Improve your creativity and planning skills
  • Implement the concepts of physical literacy
  • Animate groups while practicing physical distancing
  • Work as a team, and much more!

The content of this training is certified by the Conseil québécois du loisir and is recognized as an employment standard for camps that are members of the Association des camps du Québec.
