Du Parc YMCA

Do you have a bike to give away? The Du Parc YMCA is collecting bicycles on November 14!

Du Parc YMCA - October 29 2015

Now in its 8th edition, the Du Parc YMCA, in collaboration with Cyclo Nord-Sud, will host a bike drive on November 14.

What’s Cyclo Nord-Sud?

For 15 years, the organization has collected used bicycles in Québec as a way to fight poverty in the South. It has shipped 50,000 bikes to underprivileged communities, where they provide a means of transport and livelihood to families in need. Helping individuals increase their personal productivity, a bike can often make the difference between hardship and a decent standard of living.

  • Date: November 14, 2015
  • Time: 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM

How does it work?

  • Come by the Du Parc YMCA with one or more bicycles in repairable condition, with 20-inches wheels or larger.
  • We ask that you give a donation of $15 per bike to cover part of the cost of sending your bicycle to the South.
  • In return, Cyclo Nord-Sud will issue you a tax receipt for the market value of the bicycle AND your cash donation.

Would you like to donate your bike, but can’t make it on November 14?

For drop-off locations, visit the Cyclo Nord-Sud website or call the organization directly at 514 843-0077.
