January 24 is International Day of Education!

YMCA du Québec - January 24 2021

The third International Day of Education will be marked on Monday, January 25, 2021, under the theme “Recover and Revitalize Education for the COVID-19 Generation” and will be planned along three main segments: learning heroes, innovation and financing.

Many youths in our programs have amazed us since last March and have been true learning heroes. Hooked on School Days is coming up in a few weeks, and this will be an opportunity for us to celebrate them properly!

Did you know?

The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed January 24 as International Day of Education in 2018. Its aim is to celebrate the role of education for peace and development.

International Day of Education: Hats off to Parents!

It’s not easy being a parent, and this is even more true since last March, when parents also became teachers, educators, playmates, conflict mediators, psychologists, caregivers, etc., not to mention the fact that they continue to be part of the workforce as they pursue their professional activities at home or in essential services!

So, on this International Day of Education, we would like to acknowledge all of parents and who deserve a medal for overcoming the current situation! WELL DONE! And if you do need a little support from time to time, don’t forget that Ligneparents is here for you.
