Check out what's happening in our centres this Winter

YMCAs of Québec - November 23 2017

Our centres are always bustling with activity. Make sure you don’t miss out—take a look at your centre’s bulletin boards and monitors, follow us on social media and keep an eye on the ‘Blog’ section of our website!

Do you have used books in good condition that are crowding your bookshelf? Drop them off at the Pointe-Saint-Charles YMCA for our annual book sale from November 20 to December 1.

Have you seen the West Island YMCA’s new yoga studio? Entirely renovated, the light-filled studio is a haven of peace. With the frenzy of the holidays approaching, come enjoy a moment of wellness during one of our many classes. There will be an official inauguration ceremony in January 2018!

The West Island YMCA also has brand new TeenZone for teens in the sector. Bigger, brighter and with new comfy furniture, the Zone is more welcoming than ever!

The Downtown YMCA’s first Indoor Triathlon was enormously successful! Almost 200 participants, volunteers and spectators came together for the event! For more information, click here.

The Hochelaga-Maisonneuve YMCA is helping 12- to 17-year-olds get moving with two new activities: GYM for girls  on Wednesdays from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm, and Co-Ed  Team Sports on Fridays from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

The West Island YMCA Squash Tournament was an incredible success: all slots were filled and participants helped us raise almost $2,000 for children, youth and families.

The YMCA Plusone Mentoring program is actively looking for adult volunteer mentors for the NDG YMCA. Plusone mentors meet weekly with their youth  mentee at their local YMCA to partake in sports and leisure activities. There are also opportunities to be a mentor at the Westmount, Point-Saint-Charles, and Du Parc YMCA centres. Interested? To learn more, visit plusonementoring.ca, or contact us directly at plusone@ymcaquebec.org or 514-271-3437 ext. 4250.

Every year, it is with great pleasure that the Du Parc YMCA lends a helping hand to the Mission Mile End for its Christmas meal. The event will take place on December 10 and we are still looking for volunteers. To learn more about our needs, please contact Julie Doré at the Du Parc YMCA.

The Cartierville YMCA gym will be closed from December 23 to January 7 so we can sand and varnish the floor. Please  use gyms in other centres during this time!
