Star Program - Star 1
Moving into the Star Swim program levels, children will learn elementary backstroke, breaststroke, side stroke and increase their swimming endurance at each level. In addition to the swim strokes, children will be given opportunities to explore elements of competitive swimming, synchronized swimming, water polo, and aquafitness.
It is the intent of the Star 1 level to continue the development of the front and back crawl stroke, to introduce the elementary backstroke, as well as to begin lifesaving and first aid skills.
Children from 6 to 15 years-old will learn an initial standard front and back crawl, as well as an initial standard elementary backstroke. The core skills they will develop are foot-first sculling on back on 3m, and eggbeater with support for 1 minute. They will exercise their endurance with combination swim on 75m.
