Private training packages
Achieve your goals with one of our three basic personalized training packages.
Our flat-rate 24-, 12- and 3-session packages are available in 1-hour or 30-minute format.
24-session package
Perfect for close coaching: Choose this package if you’re looking to transform your lifestyle with an extended commitment. It’s the way to attain ambitious goals like a complete fitness makeover or preparing for an athletic event.
12-session package
Designed for balanced follow-up: Do you have a clear fitness goal like losing weight, improved endurance or better muscle tone with regular monitoring? This package provides ongoing support to make sure you’re making constant, measurable progress.
3-session package
Ideal for getting started: To test the private-training waters or ease yourself into a routine—this is exactly what you need. Get essential advice and learn the basics of improving your physical fitness safely.
Private training is available at our four Montréal sports centres (Cartierville, du Parc, Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, Westmount) and in Québec City (Saint-Roch).
Already a Y member? Your membership gets you special savings on our packages. And if you’ve got an OMNY membership, your first training session is already included.
For semi-private training (2 to 4 participants), stop by the front desk of the centre nearest.

1. What is included with private training?
The purchase of 3, 12 or 24 private training sessions includes:
- One 30- or 60-minute meeting with your private trainer;
- A questionnaire to better grasp your needs and goals as well as a fitness assessment;
- The development of a customized training plan;
- A tour of the facilities, based on your training needs, where you can try equipment and machines and chat with your trainer;
- Customized training sessions, adapted to your goals, schedule, and overall fitness.
2. Do you offer nutrition services?
We do not offer nutrition or meal plan services. During your private training sessions, our team will give you advice on diet and hydration, based on the Canadian Food Guide and your fitness goals, to optimize performance.
3. Can I choose my private trainer?
Yes, at the YMCA you can choose the private trainer who will guide and support you in your fitness journey. Each member of our team has a fitness specialty and is a certified trainer.
4. Can I invite a family member or friend to my private training sessions?
Yes, this is possible with our semi-private training. This option allows you to work out with a friend or partner, which can make the experience even more fun and motivating. Our semi-private training sessions are 60 minutes and can welcome 2 to 4 people.
5. Will my insurance reimburse the cost of private training sessions?
The possibility to receive a reimbursement for your private training sessions will depend on your insurance company and policy. We recommend checking directly with your insurer to see whether kinesiology or private training services are covered.
6. Can I try private training before purchasing sessions?
Yes, by signing up for an OMNY membership you are entitled to a free private training session. For more information on our memberships, please visit the Become a Member page.
7. How do the follow-ups with my private trainer work and at what frequency?
At the YMCA, the follow-ups with your private trainer are completely customized based on your needs and goals. At the first meeting, your training will assess your fitness and discuss your preferences and specific goals (e.g., building strength, improving endurance or flexibility, or getting back into shape). Together, you will devise a custom training plan.
Based on the private training package you purchase (3, 12, or 24 sessions), the frequency of sessions will vary according based on your preferred pace. Whether you meet with your trainer once or several times a week, your trainer will adapt to your schedule to offer you ongoing support and motivation.
8. What is your cancellation policy?
We understand that sometimes unexpected things come up. You can thus cancel or postpone your training session up to 24 hours in advance without penalty. After this time, no cancellation or modification is possible (except with medical proof).
