Throughout the training, you’ll dive into a stimulating university environment where you’ll learn to organize and lead artistic and scientific activities. On top of discovering how to share your passion for art and science with kids within a camp setting, you’ll also get to show them the importance of creativity and organization.
The program consists of a minimum of 150 hours of practical and theoretical learning followed by a first-aid training so you’re ready for any situation. Supported by the Association des camps du Québec (ACQ), the Art and Science CIT program is a one-of-a-kind experience where you’ll reinforce your facilitation and leadership skills. The cherry on the sundae? The program takes place on the beautiful Concordia University grounds, offering a dynamic and rich learning environment.
You’ll finish the program with the skills sought after by camps and recreational and sports organizations and get your DAFA diploma (diplôme d’aptitude aux fonctions d’animation), a must-have to work on many camp counsellor teams. You’ll also enjoy many exclusive benefits, such as an outing to Camp YMCA Kanawana, a two-month membership to the YMCA sports centres, and a priority job interview during next year’s hiring campaign at the Y.
Looking to inspire youth while building your own art and science skills? Join us this summer.
