(Montréal, March 13, 2020) In order to participate in collective efforts to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the YMCAs of Québec have chosen to close temporarily all of their centres and programs until March 29 inclusively.
“Our top priority is the health and safety of our participants and teams. As a community organization, it is important that we help with public efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19,” said Stéphane Vaillancourt, President and CEO of the YMCAs of Québec.
This decision will also allow the organization’s 1,600 employees to take care of their families while schools and daycares are closed.
“This is an exceptional situation, and everyone has to do their part to protect one another,” said Mr. Vaillancourt.
