Heartsaver® CPR AED with Child Module

YMCA CPR courses provide training in preventing and recognizing the signs and symptoms of heart attack and stroke, as well as intervention techniques in cases of airway obstruction (choking) and cardiac arrest by activating the call to emergency medical services; CPR; and the use of an automatic external defibrillator (AED). A certification, recognizing the standards of the Heart & Stroke Foundation, is awarded upon successful completion of the course.

AGE
12 years+

Equivalent to CPR Level A (AED): Techniques for Adult and Child, including use of the AED.

EVALUATION AND CERTIFICATION
Students must attend a minimum of 90% of class hours. If a student plans on not fully attending a course while still meeting the required minimum attendance percentage, they must inform the instructor and are responsible for catching up on any material missed during their absence.
Students are evaluated by a certified First Aid Instructor and Examiner. Certification is awarded upon successful completion of in-class evaluations and of the practical exam, and is valid for 24 months.

CERTIFICATION
We recommend a refresher course annually.
