Preschool – Gliders
The Preschool lessons are divided into six levels. They provide an introduction to swimming skills using proven, achievable, and age-appropriate progressions. Games and challenges are incorporated into each lesson, keeping the children active and enthusiastic in the water, while maintaining a program that is lively and fun.
It is the intent of the Gliders level to orient the beginner to water, assist him or her to experience the buoyant qualities of water, introduce elementary movement skills, and develop comfort and confidence in the water, working on deep water awareness.
Children from 3 to 5 years-old will learn core skills such as bobs, front and back floats in chest-deep water. They will be introduced to deep-water surface support. They will also practice their endurance through 5m front and back swim using arms and legs, and 15m front and back swim with PFD.
