A Du Parc YMCA volunteer receives a FQCCL volunteering award!

Du Parc YMCA - November 13 2016

The Du Parc YMCA is proud to announce that Marguerite Dorion received a volunteering award from the Fédération québécoise des centres communautaires de loisir (FQCCL) in the 18 years and over category.

Margo, as her friends call her, has been a YMCA volunteer for 20 years. She began as a volunteer with the Local Advisory Council (LAC), and went on to get involved with the tax clinic as well as the Café Rendez-vous Y; three different volunteer experiences she continues to enjoy today!

Margo is warm and welcoming with everyone who crosses her path, be they beneficiaries, volunteers and employees. Her friendly demeanour helps create a respectful environment and a climate of solidarity, which fosters a rewarding experience for all.

Congratulations Marguerite, we hope you will continue to volunteer for a long time!

About the FQCCL volunteering award

To mark its 40th anniversary, the Fédération québécoise des centres communautaires de loisir (FQCCL) created a new volunteering award. The Volunteer Award highlights the important role that volunteers play in helping community recreational centres achieve their mission, and pays tribute to people who have made exceptional contributions to the development of their communities and who improve the living conditions of their fellow citizens through their engagement and action. To recognize their efforts, this award will be given annually to a volunteer aged 18 and over and to a youth volunteer under the age of 18.
