The 2017 Du Parc YMCA Cyclo-Tour: A Great Success for Children in Our Community!

Du Parc YMCA - June 29 2017

The 6th edition of the Du Parc YMCA Cyclo-Tour took place on June 10 and 11. More than thirty cyclists rode from Saint-Anne-des-Plaines to Camp YMCA Kanawana in Saint-Sauveur to raise funds to give young people a chance to attend YMCA day camps and be active. Participants raised almost $14,000, a record amount for this event.

By contributing in one way or another to the event, you have given kids and teens an opportunity to participate in our day camps, make new friends, get moving and have fun. By riding, sponsoring a cyclist or giving your time, you have made a difference in the lives of all these young people.

It’s also important to mention the fact that this sports outing was almost entirely run by an amazing team of volunteers, led by Clément Coste, the event’s main organizer. They did incredible work, making sure that everyone had a great time and fully enjoyed the two day event. A huge thank you to the ride leaders: Peter, Bénédicte, Marjolaine, Gilles and Nicolas; to the drivers accompanying the cyclists: Marc and Louis-Philippe; to Camille for visual and promotional tools; and to Nolin, our head chef out on the road. And, of course, kudos to all the cyclists who outdid themselves to help our youth.

We can’t wait to see you next year,

Marie-France Hébert
