Salvador de Bahia (Brazil) will host the 2018 World Social Forum (WSF) from March 13 to 17.
The World Social Forum is the largest gathering of civil society in the world. It welcomes citizens and organizations from across the globe that are sensitive to civil society’s primary areas of concern with regards to globalization (social development, solidarity economy, human rights, feminist struggle, democratization, racism, (de)colonization, etc.).
The YMCA and its partners (FTQ and AQOCI) want to encourage Québec civil society’s active participation in this major event. Join our QC Collective for the 2018 WSF for an exciting week participating in the world’s largest gathering of engaged civil society.
This will include five days of pre-trip training on current social issues, active participation in the 2018 WSF, unparalleled access to a network of experts and activists as well as networking and engagement opportunities before and after the trip*.
*Please note that the project’s communication will be in French.
Optional pre-trip training sessions will take place once a month on Saturday, September 30, October 14, November 11, December 9, January 20 and February 24. Moreover, the Collective is working with the YMCA Language School to offer Portuguese classes to participants at a reduced rate.
