Youth take action for the environment

The YMCAs of Québec - April 21 2016

Hundreds of young people from Montréal, Québec and Gatineau will take part in the Forum d’action environnementale on May 28 and 29. The Forum will be led by the YMCA’s C-Vert program.

There will be workshops all day on Saturday in collaboration with the Borough of Saint-Laurent, the International Day for Biological Diversity and the David Suzuki Foundation. These workshops are open to the general public and will raise awareness about protecting the environment in urban areas. You can read more about the event’s programming on the borough website.

On Sunday, C-Vert groups will join Soverdi to engage in a major environmental action, planting trees and caring for the plants at the Vanguard School in Saint-Laurent.

Young people will also have lots of opportunities throughout the Forum to discuss with each other, make connections and share their projects for their one-month environmental internship this summer.
