Update on the Pointe-Saint-Charles YMCA redevelopment project.
Following our (virtual) Public Assembly on November 5th, we announced some key marker dates for the next steps.
- November 30th – viable project concept due
- December 3rd – meeting with working group
- Weeks of December 7th and 14th – invitation and public information session
The concept of the project was presented on November 30th to the YMCA. While the project was not advanced enough to be accepted in its totality, there were sufficient elements of viability in each of the project phases to warrant a continuance.
We are, therefore, thrilled to continue with our work on the YMCA Pointe-Saint-Charles redevelopment project!
We look forward to strengthening the partnerships we have developed; to carry on with our community collaborations; and to secure the elements of viability required for the mixed project on the current site – with a YMCA, CPE, and Housing Partner.
As the concept of the project has not changed since our Public Assembly in November, we have opted for a written communication of our progress in lieu of another information session.
The working group (Table de travail) will reconvene in January to discuss the next steps and the modalities of co-operation as we enter this new phase of the redevelopment project. We will communicate with you, once again, in early 2021, with any updates, including an invitation to a Public Assembly as we move through the next steps.
In the meanwhile, I would like to thank the members of the working group for their dedication over the past nine months, and, specifically, much more intensely through the fall season.
Their expertise, and their generosity in sharing diverse viewpoints on behalf of the community at large have greatly enriched the process.
Should you have any questions or should you wish to discuss further about the Pointe-Saint-Charles YMCA and the redevelopment project, please do not hesitate to contact me: firstname.lastname@example.org
It will be my pleasure to communicate via e-mail or arrange for a time to speak together.
Wishing you and your family all the best for the holiday season and for a very healthy and happy New Year.
