The YMCAs of Québec Donate $5,000 in Support of Fort McMurray

The YMCAs of Québec - June 10 2016

We have all been witness to the wildfire devastation in Fort McMurray. The climb back to normalcy will no doubt take several months, if not years.

The community will need the YMCA in the days, weeks and months to come. So, the Y is looking for ways to continue to support children, young people and families during the recovery process. Some of these measures will include offering access to facilities free of charge to children and young people aged 10 to 17 and to all on weekends and holidays as well as providing financial assistance to people in need.

However, these actions require resources. Because accessibility is one of our core values, the YMCAs of Québec are pledging $5,000 to help the YMCA of Northern Alberta come to the aid of the Fort McMurray community, following an effort on the part of all YMCA associations across Canada.

In this way, we hope to give more children, young people and families in Fort McMurray access to YMCA programs during this difficult time.
