We’re recruiting!

With the imminent reopening of the borders to asylum seekers, the YMCA Residence has several positions to fill urgently. We’re inviting you to a big job fair on November 29 from noon to 7:00 p.m. at the Downtown YMCA (1435 Drummond Street).

Interviews will take place on the spot. Please bring a printed copy of your CV as well as a list of three references (names, emails, and telephone numbers).

The start date for all positions is December 6.

What positions are available?

We have positions to fill at the YMCA Residence located at 4039 Tupper Street (Atwater métro) and at Place Dupuis located at 845 Sainte-Catherine Street East (Berri-UQAM métro).

  • Cleaner
    8 to 40 hours per week – Day, evening, night, weekends, and on call
    $18.08 per hour
  • Cook
    40 hours per week – Day
    $18.75 per hour
  • Dishwasher/Kitchen Help
    20 to 40 hours per week – Day and evening and weekends
    $18.08 per hour
  • Cafeteria Attendant
    8 to 40 hours per week – Day, night, and weekends
    $18.08 per hour
  • Maintenance Worker
    24 to 40 hours per week – Day
    $26.39 per hour
  • Customer Service Agent
    24 to 40 hours per week – Day, evening, night, and weekends
    $16.06 per hour
  • Educator, Drop-In Childcare
    35 hours per week – Day
    $17.50 to $20.00 per hour

Practical information about the job fair

  • Location: Downtown YMCA (1435 Drummond Street, Montréal, H3G 1W4)
  • Date: November 29 from noon to 7:00 p.m.

  • Position start date: December 6, 2021
  • Pursuant to the Government of Québec's Decree 1276-2021, all new YMCA employees working at the YMCA Residence are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. 

About the YMCA Residence

Created in 1931, the YMCA Residence promotes social cohesion and the inclusion of some of the most vulnerable members of our society by providing short-term housing for refugees and asylum seekers.

The Residence provides a multitude of services and activities to welcome and support its clients, with the collaboration of PRAIDA, a regional program for the accommodation and integration of asylum seekers managed by the Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux (CIUSSS) of West-Central Montréal.
