Volunteer Mentor, YMCA Plusone Mentoring

Interested in mentoring a youth in your community?

As a volunteer mentor for the Plusone Mentoring program, your leadership, passion, adaptability and, most importantly, your ability to bond with youth, will be indispensable assets. Through these, you will develop a trusting and positive relationship with a youth that will allow you to best support them in confronting current and future challenges in their lives.

Throughout the program, the mentor collaborates with, and is supported by, a trained and qualified youth worker.

The relationship between the mentor and the youth last for a full year, during which the two meet once a week in order to participate in the activities of their choice at their local YMCA. The match between the mentor and the youth is founded on shared common interests, which facilitates the development of strong relationships.
