The YMCAs of Québec Expand Their Kanawana Day Camp Programming

Summer 2024 marks the launch of a promising new program: Kanawana Adventure.

Montréal, May 8th, 2024 – With the sunny season just around the corner, the YMCAs of Québec are preparing to welcome hundreds of young people at their camps to once again offer them an unforgettable summer. This year, the Y is proud to introduce Kanawana Adventure to its historic and renowned Saint-Sauveur camp.

“This year, we are offering youths an immersion in nature, with activities in the forest and on the water so that they can recharge by exploring a magnificent site. They will learn forest survival skills, water sports, and be free to explore their artistic side. We look forward to seeing them have this unique experience!”, says Marie-Pierre Lacasse, YMCA Camp Kanawana Director.

This new program, taught in English for children aged 5–12, is offered at our summer camp site in the Saint-Sauveur region, in an exceptional natural setting. Youths will be able to explore nature and take part in plenty of outdoor activities (swimming, canoeing, kayaking, archery, visual arts, etc.). Participants will also find the Y camps’ renowned unifying atmosphere.

An unforgettable summer begins at the YMCA!

The YMCAs of Québec have always put youths at the heart of their actions. The Y has been running day camps for over a century. The goal is to combine physical activity and fun to promote participants’ development of healthy lifestyles. Education is not an afterthought, and youths are encouraged to develop their decision-making and problem-solving skills. All in a fun and inclusive environment where everyone feels accepted, with a strong sense of community.
