Six laureates, one honorary medalist and acclaimed performers at the YMCA’s Peace Medals Gala on September 21!
On September 21, the YMCAs of Québec will award Peace Medals at a gala dinner to celebrate the International Day of Peace. Peacemakers often defend their cause quietly and with humility. For this, they deserve our recognition and support! Entirely dedicated to them, the event will be hosted by Maxime Charbonneau and will feature performances by many artists.
We have added a new Medal this year in the Corporate Peace Initiative category, an award that recognizes companies working for social good. In addition, to mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the concentration camps, an honorary Medal will be presented to the Montreal Holocaust Memorial Centre in honour of Holocaust survivors who volunteer at the centre and deliver their message of peace.
Following in the footsteps of past laureates, such as Simple Plan, Senator Roméo Dallaire and Daniel Germain (Breakfast Club), the Peace Medal finalists remind us that there are exceptional people in Québec, people who are committed to peace and social harmony. Please join us in celebrating the International Day of Peace, an annual day of non-violence and cease-fire established by the UN:
