TeenZones

A place for all teens

Are you looking for a place to chill after school? Don’t feel like hanging out on the street or watching TV at home? Come check us out! Our TeenZone youth centres are for teens just like you. Make it whatever you want it to be: come as you are, pick what you want to do, talk to whomever you want…

Our facilitators lead a profusion of physical, artistic and cultural programs, including all kinds of sports (basketball, soccer, hip-hop dance), art workshops, projects for young leaders, free games (billiards, Ping-Pong, foosball, board games, video games), homework help, and multimedia production… So much to do in just one place!

Watch a video testimonial from program participant Raphael

“Honestly, before coming to the Y, I was the worst kid in the world. Without the YMCA, I don’t know where I’d be today. I am definitely a better person now.”

OJ, former participant who is now volunteer

“It’s important for us to know that our kids have a safe place to go, somewhere they can learn and get help with how to deal with their problems. It’s especially good to know that our eldest is not out on the street or being bullied.”

Charlotte, mother of Kyle, a 14-year-old TeenZone participant

This program is offered at the Downtown YMCA, the Du Parc YMCA, the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce YMCA, the West Island YMCA, the Pointe-St-Charles YMCA, the Saint-Laurent YMCA and the Saint-Roch YMCA (Québec).

The YMCA also manages a TeenZone at the Westmount Recreation Centre in partnership with the City of Westmount and another one at the Beurling Academy in partnership with the Lester B. Pearson School Board and Montreal Hooked on School.

Two zones for young adults, Zone 16-24 Saint-Léonard and Zone 16-24 South Shore, have been launched in Saint-Léonard and Saint-Lambert, to respond to a need for activities and services in this age category.
