Day Camps 2011 – Ages 2-17 years
The YMCAs of Québec day camps offer fun-filled activities that are both physically and
intellectually stimulating. At the Y, we don’t just care for your children; we get them active
and provide them with an experience they will not find anywhere else.
The Y has long been known for its child development and youth programs. Our activities
are designed with the needs and interests of each age group in mind, and our counsellors
are all specially trained.

Swimming lessons for everyone
Aquatic activities are at the heart of the YMCA day camps’ programming.
Children take swimming lessons three or four times a week from certified instructors, and
receive a progress report at the end of each week. And because children love the water so much,
we also go for the sheer pleasure of splashing and laughing!
Activities to suit everyone's needs
Our day camps offer children a dynamic and enriching environment that allows them to fuel
their passions and try new activities!
Whether it is individual or team sports, science-based activities, arts and crafts, drama,
music, dance, or cooperative games, there is much to explore at the Y. Often, we invite
program specialists to come lend us a hand. Aspiring artists, budding scientists, and
sports buffs will all feel right at home.
In all of our camps, at least one day a week is spent on an outing or taking part in a special activity.
Furthermore, certain Y centres offer specialized camps: language camp, tennis, sports, and counsellor-in-training. (Details below)

A morning of fun! Activities: swimming, exploration, arts and crafts, music, indoor and outdoor games. Parents provide snack and lunch for their children.

Explorers

The Explorers form a unique group that benefits from camp programming in the morning. In the afternoon, the participants head off to discover the city as part of our "Destinations for exploration" program. The campers actively participate in the planning of their activities and events.
Leaders-in-training
This program is geared to foster personal growth by having fun, meeting new friends and staying active. Summer outings, interactive workshops, and hands-on experiences encourage the development of self-confidence, leadership qualities and communication skills.
Counsellor-in-training
Our counsellor-in-training program prepares teens for the challenges and the rewards of working with children. Participants acquire skills and experience that will help them become the dynamic leaders of tomorrow. Applicants will be interviewed prior to admission.
Teen camp for youth 13 to 17 years
A camp with a variety of activities and outings, projects and special events, sports, swimming, camping, water slides, and much more! Contact the centre for more details.
Child care services
Child care services are available at all centres, except for the preschool day camps and some of the teen programs, at an additional cost.
Discounts (cannot be combined)
- 15% discount for Y Family membership holders.
- 10% discount applied to the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th child from the same family.
- 5% discount*** on the fees for each week registered before April 1st, 2011.
Registration fee
A $15 fee per week registered is required at the time of registration. This amount will be deducted from the total amount owed. Please note that in the event of a cancellation, the reservation fee will not be reimbursed.
Special needs
Our day camps aim to integrate children with special needs. The need and eligibility for a shadow will be determined according to specific criteria. For more information on the registration process, please contact the manager of the day camp.
The YMCAs of Québec day camps are for everyone thanks to the Access for All policy.
*Kindergarten must be completed.
**Youth 12 years of age are welcome to participate provided they have completed Grade 7.
***Must be registered a minimum of 2 weeks in order to benefit from the discount.
