"Certified by the Fitness Instructor Training program, Lisa has been working as a trainer through the
Downtown YMCA since September 2009. She also has her Personal Training Specialist certification
through Can Fit Pro (Canadian Fitness Professionals) since November 2009. Lisa developed her love
of exercise through spinning classes and found that the satisfaction that it brought her quickly
led her to transform that passion into a full time career! For this young mom, making a difference
in the health and well being of others has been her personal goal. "Seeing results and being happy
with oneself" is the approach that she takes with each of her clients.

Mary Ciarla
Sign up for my group classes and follow my lead! High and low impact cardio, muscle
toning with weights, elastics or tubing, spinning, training with exercise ball,
and Bosu. My expertise in body and mind development has also led me to teach yoga,
Pilates and Fusion, as well as related disciplines. As soon as I meet my clients,
I take into account their needs, objectives, and schedule so that they may reach
their goals more easily. I can also integrate corrective conditioning into my training
programs.

Laura Daxon
As a firm believer in the countless benefits of body movement and fitness exercises, it is my duty and pleasure to
develop fitness programs adapted to the individual needs of my clients. I keep up to date with the latest fitness
trends by attending workshops such as Sports Nutrition and Postural Assessment & Exercise Prescription amongst
others. My full-body holistic approach includes ballet, aerobics, yoga and Pilates and stems from over 25 years
of experience in dance and yoga. Aside from my work at the Y, I have produced and starred in two instructional DVDs.
I also give a variety of classes and have been leading group activities for seniors for more than six years.

Suzanne de Cardenas
Fitness and flexibility are essential for maintaining a good quality of life, and
it is my goal to help my clients keep these assets as long as possible. With private
training, we can quickly target the areas that need improvement, and work towards
getting back into the best shape possible.
A graduate of Champlain College with a degree in private training, aquafit, and
aerobics, I am also specialized in Pilates and am currently working towards Yoga
Fit certification. I regularly participate in workshops to further develop my skills
and to keep abreast of the latest trends in the world of fitness.

Jorge de la Cerda
Jorge has always been active in competitive sports and understands the value of wellness and good health.
His fitness career began back in Mexico City in 1993 when he was training with the country's top trainers
and body builders. Soon after, he became certified as an AAA Trainer by the Mexican Federation of Body
Building & Fitness (MFBB).
As an experienced fitness professional, Jorge shares his knowledge and passion for healthy living by
providing personal training to appreciative clients. He is sympathetic to the challenges of balancing
a professional career with an exercise regimen, and he understands the effects of stress on sleep and
diet. In either private or semi-private sessions workouts with Jorge are therefore efficient and time
effective, and are designed to achieve goals, such as: Corrective Conditioning programs for Athletic
injured and de-conditioned population, Losing and maintaining weight, Strengthening, Toning, Body Building

Nicusar Dima
In my opinion, knowledge is not enough; you must be able to apply it. It is this
belief that guides my work when training clients. My area of expertise these past
ten years has focussed on combining effective strength training and cardiovascular
training.
Not only am I passionate about my work as a fitness trainer, I have also acquired
expertise in this area. What brings me the most satisfaction is helping individuals

Yves Francoeur
I am a private trainer with over 25 years of experience as a fitness and strength
training professional. I also teach levels II and III of the individual fitness
trainer program for YMCA Canada. My expertise has enabled me to help a diverse clientele
ranging from athletes to beginners. I have furthered my education through various
recognized workshops and training sessions such as Paul Check high performance core
conditioning, and the Gray Cook functional movement screening seminars

Valerie E. Kirkman
Valerie's passion for rugby and running led her to weight-training over 20 years ago. When she
finally decided to turn her sideline into a career, she got certified by Coach Export and the
YMCA. Well aware of an athlete's need to acquire the mental skills for optimal performance,
personal experience also taught her the importance of proper nutrition for sports performance.
In order to better serve all of her clients - whether athletes or people simply in search of
better health and quality of life - Valerie got Mental Trainer certification from Coach Action
and completed her training in Sports Nutrition.
Always eager for knowledge, Valerie is pursuing her studies in the field of physical exercise
in order to give her clients the safest, most appropriate and enjoyable training experience possible.
Julie Leblanc
Passionate about training, Julie has over ten years of experience in conditioning. Over the years,
she has managed to surpass herself in achieving a better physical condition. Always in pursuit
of her objectives while remaining optimistic, Julie decided to make her passion into a career.
Her approach is primarily focused on the client in the form of coaching and support in order to
put the client at ease. The client remains Julie's priority as her primary desire is to achieve

As a Personal Trainer and Holistic Lifestyle Coach, Laurie has a solid understanding of how one's fitness

Céline Matteau
Céline has been involved in the field of physical fitness for the last 16 years. She is certified
by the American Council of Exercise and has completed the YMCA F.I.T. program.
Céline's interest in physical fitness continues to progress since 1985. Always fascinated by the
operation of the human body, she completed studies in herbal medicine. These studies prompted her
to increase her knowledge of physical fitness by subsequently enrolling into the F.I.T. program
offered by the YMCA. She obtained her ACE certification in 1995.
She began working at the YMCA as a volunteer instructor in 1995 and now holds a part
time position at the downtown YMCA since 1999.

Enrico Quilico
In 2006, Enrico Quilico was the victim of a severe highway motorcycle accident that nearly cost him his life.
Walking again, regaining strength, balance, and over 60lbs of weight that he lost were crucial to extensive
physiotherapy over the course of that year. In 2007, Enrico took his training one step further in the weight
room at the YMCA and was certified as an Individual Conditioning Training Instructor.
In 2008,
Enrico completed his first Triathlon in Montreal and instantly became passionate about the sport.
His love for Triathlons brings him to compete every season in and outside of Quebec.
He also competes for the Westmount YMCA Master Swim Team during the winter and in 2010,
his successful contributions to that team led them to a provincial victory. Everything
that Enrico instructs is based on personal experience. He welcomes a variety of clients
who wish to regain or improve their speed, strength, and endurance through weight
training for competitive purposes or general fitness.
Claudette Rouisse
I develop fitness programs that allow my clients to reach specific goals and that
provide tangible and lasting results. Whether it is for losing weight, correcting
posture, improving cardiovascular capacity, strength training, or for developing
flexibility, my varied and diverse background along with my ability to motivate
will result in marked improvements. I lead cardio cycle, toning, and yoga classes,
as well as leading small group (4 people) training sessions for a ‘personalized
coaching’.

Bassel Youssef
I have been a trainer for over 15 years and have provided advice and guidance on
strength training, conditioning, and weight loss. More recently, I have gained expertise
in posture analysis, corrective conditioning, as well as in injury rehabilitation.
