During the period in which a pool is closed at any given centre, members are invited to use the pools at one of our other YMCA centres.

Please consult the schedule below for the various closing dates of YMCA pools throughout the city.

The Westmount YMCA Launches its 2015 YMCA Strong Kids Campaign

Giving is Growing!

Montréal, February 25, 2015 – The Westmount YMCA is launching its annual fundraising campaign, the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign, to ensure a better future for the children and youth in the neighbourhood.

“Many employees, volunteers and donors will be doing their part to raise $45,000 to ensure a better future for the children, youth, families and seniors in the neighbourhood,” said Cristina Romero, Director of the Westmount YMCA. “We want to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone can thrive and reach their full potential. The YMCA Strong Kids Campaign allows us to promote healthy lifestyle habits, nurture the development of young people and foster their sense of belonging and engagement within their communities.”

The Howick family story exemplifies the campaign’s slogan, “Giving is Growing!”: three generations of one family working out, volunteering and giving back to the YMCA. “I am a volunteer fitness class instructor. I have been coming to the YMCA for 27 years. My two daughters have been members for 25 years and now it’s time for my three grandchildren to join. Why do I like it here? There’s always someone looking out for you, said Lillian, age 72, fitness instructor, volunteer and donor.

Whether you wish to…

  • enable a child in need to participate in an afterschool program for a week;
  • make it possible for a less fortunate child to participate in our day camp for week;
  • give a disadvantaged senior the chance to participate in an Aquafit class twice a week for a full year;
  • offer two Grade 2 classes (30 students) the opportunity to participate in an 8-week swimming class;

 …your donation will make a difference.

The Westmount YMCA invites donors to give generously today:

  • in person;
  • by telephone at 514 931-8046, ext. 226;
  • online at http://ymcaquebec.org/strongkids/wm;
  • by participating in its activities: Swim-O-Thon (March 28), FIT Challenge (April 17 and 18), Fall Variety Show, and other events (e.g. Pyjama Party, Bake Sale, Phone-O-Thon, etc.).
